Watch U.S. Marine Corps Osprey tilt-rotor aircraft (supported by KC-130s) set new distance record

Three MV-22Bs flew from Miramar to Rio de Janeiro setting a new distance record during transit.

Taken on Nov. 14, 2015 the following video show Ospreys from VMM-764, 4th Marine Air Wing, Marine Forces Reserve, conducting the longest trip in the western hemisphere in the history of the MV 22B.

The transit, 6,165 miles, which included stops in Trinidad and Tobago, and Brazil, lasted five days due to bad weather and was accomplished with the support of three KC-130Js from VMGR-234 and one Hercules from VMGR-452.

These Air Assets supported exercise UNITAS Amphibious Operations 2015.
