The new Russian Sukhoi Su-35 multirole jets took part in military drills near the Kuril Islands in western Pacific Ocean.
The Su-35 Flanker E, Russia’s latest version of the super-maneuverable multirole fighter jet, was recently deployed to the western Pacific to take part in drills near the disputed Kuril islands.
Little is known about the role played by the Super Flanker in the exercise, however, the Russians have released a really cool video, that includes some cockpit footage.
why are these not deployed to Syria.

“In the course of the training flights, Su-35 performed complex aerobatic elements flying at minimum speeds as well as practiced air combat over the water surface.”
Based on the video, I think the one with dark grey camo was indeed a Su-35S, while the other ones with “classic” RuAF Su-27 “sky” camo were indeed upgraded Su-27SM and the cockpit video came from one of them.
