This Typhoon pilot’s selfie is one of the best we’ve ever seen

Pilots from all around the world continue to send us cool, really cool “selfies”. Here’s the latest from a Typhoon pilot.

Although it was slightly edited to make it resemble a Blade Runner – inspired image, or a drawing out of comic strip, this self-portrait photo or “selfie”, taken by a Eurofighter Typhoon pilot with a Go Pro camera, is simply stunning.

We have already posted some stunning selfies in the past, like the one by an F-16 pilot with a Dreamliner on the left wing, or the one by a Danish F-16 pilot while firing a live Air-to-Air Missile.

The latest one, proves that not only “Viper” pilots, but also Typhoon fighter jocks can take fantastic selfies.

Pilot of first Typhoon in tiger color scheme took this selfie during 14-ship Tiger Meet formation

Fantastic Selfie of the Bavarian Tigers Eurofighter Typhoon pilot.

NATO Tiger Meet (NTM) is a two-week multi-national mid-size exercise that includes all types of air-to-air and air-to-ground and a wide variety of support missions. This year was held at Schleswig – Jagel, in northern Germany.

The exercise, gathers squadrons sporting Tiger (or feline) emblems with brand new, flamboyant tiger color schemes.

Along with French Rafales, Polish F-16 Block 52+ jets, Turkish F-16Cs, and Czech JAS-39 Gripen in tiger liveries, the highlight of NTM was the first ever Tiger Typhoon, of the Bavarian Tigers.

Founded on Mar. 18, 2013, by the 741 and 742 squadrons of the German Air Force’s Jagdgeschwader 74 in Neuburg, the Bavarian Tigers took over the Tiger Spirit from the 321 Squadron / Jagdbombergeschwader 32.

The Tiger Typhoon pilot took a selfie during a mass Tiger formation featuring all the special colors that attended NTM14.

Selfie with Dreamliner: F-16 pilot takes self-portrait photo with Boeing 787 on his left wing

Another selfie taken by a Dutch F-16 pilot flying alongside the first Dutch Boeing 787-8.

Here’s an interesting series of selfies, taken by GoPro cameras, showing Arkefly airline’s first 787-8,  the first Dreamliner in the Netherlands, welcomed by the RNlAF (Royal Netherlands Air Force) F-16 Demo Team.

The RNLAF F-16 Demo Team 2014-2015 is made of personnel from both the 323 and 322 Squadrons, based at Leeuwarden Airbase. The team consists of one display pilot, Captain Jeroen “Slick” Dickens, four display coaches, eight technical specialists and a webmaster.

As the images shows, the Boeing 787 was intercepted by two Dutch F-16s in standard QRA (Quick Reaction Alert) configuration (that is to say, by armed aircraft) whose pilots wore JHMCS (Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System) instead of the characteristic Demo Helmet you can see in these images.

Royal Netherlands Air Force F-16 demo team’s inverted selfie

Once again a cool selfie taken from the cockpit of an F-16 Fighting Falcon.

The latest example of self-portrait photo most probably taken with a GoPro camera from the cockpit of an F-16 comes from the Royal Netherlands Air Force: a cool series of “selfies” was posted by the Dutch Demo team on their Facebook page.

The shots, from various points of view, were taken during last week’s display practice at Gilze-Rijen airbase.
