Oggi ho avuto la possibilità di visitare il 14° Stormo per poter raccogliere il materiale necessario a scrivere un articolo per la rivista RID (www.rid.it). Lo Stormo opera dalla base di Pratica di Mare da quasi 30 anni (l’anniversario verrà celebrato il 1° giugno prossimo) e di cose da dire su questo reparto veramente atipico ce ne sono molte.
Uno degli highlight della visita era un volo a bordo di un P.180 del 71° Gruppo. La missione, c/s I-2199 prevedeva un’uscita VFR da PdM con inserimento in IFR sull’ELVIN per Grosseto per condurre una serie di avvicinamenti strumentali e successivo rientro a bassa quota a Pratica di Mare.
