This may be the point of view of the target….

Shot by photographer Anton Balakchiev during the recent Thracian Thunder 2016 exercise, this short but rather interesting video shows a Bulgarian Air Force Su-25 Frogfoot performing a low passage over a hill where photographers had gathered to shot the aircraft flying low level missions.

Among the aircraft taking part to the drills (and photographed from the hill) also twelve U.S. Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II aircraft, assigned to the 74th EFS (Expeditionary Fighter Squadron) and deployed to Graf Ignatievo airbase, Bulgaria, as part of the European Theater Security Package in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve.

It was the very first time the two most famous CAS (Close Air Support) platform of the Cold War worked together.

During their deployment, not only did the Moody Air Force Base’s Warthogs have the chance to train in CAS (Close Air Support), CSAR (Combat SAR) missions, operating even from austere landing strips, but they also had the opportunity to train with the Bulgarian Air Force.
